Indian Geoinformatics Centre, founded on 21 February 2005, offers professional services in Geoinformatics. IGC also offers software skills in GIS, Remote Sensing & Satellite Image Processing and GPS. IGC imparts "Instructor Led" training on the most powerful and flexible software family suite - "ArcGIS 10" from ESRI. Training is also provided on Open Source GIS and DIP software like GeoServer, OpenLayers, Quantum GIS etc.

GIS, Remote Sensing & Digital Image Processing and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) are being used the world over for a variety of applications by many user communities - Urban Development, Logistics, Utilites, Law Enforcement, Disaster Risk Assessment and Mitigation, Forestry, Agriculture, Environment, Defense, Health, Banking, Insurance, Education, Retailing, Marketing, etc, as a Decision Support System.

Our vision at Indian Geoinformatics Centre is to equip our user communities, to manage information scientifically using GIS, Remote Sensing, Satellite Image Processing, and GPS technologies to make "Informed" decisions. To achieve this goal, we offer regular and part time training programs and consulting services to anyone who wishes to apply GIS & Satellite Image Processing in their domain of activity.

Our faculty is drawn from branches such as IT, Electronics and Communication, Geology. Two of the faculty with 15 years of industry experience have a Masters Degree in IT and Geoexploration from IIT, Mumbai. Annually, we conduct over 100 man days of training apart from projects for town planning, agriculture and watershed management.

Our training facility, spread over 2000 sq.ft., is equipped with 20 computers and audio visual aids for conducting hands-on practical classes.
